We review the systems you run, the constraints you work under and the outcome you need, then set out the options with their trade-offs so your leadership can decide. The deliverable is a written architecture and a plan your own team could execute, whether or not we build it.

How an advisory engagement runs
A typical review runs three to six weeks depending on the size of the estate. It is time-boxed on purpose: an open-ended advisory retainer tends to produce advice nobody has to act on.

Read the estate as it actually is
Interviews with the people who operate the systems, a read of the code and the infrastructure, and a look at where incidents and change requests actually come from. Documentation is treated as a claim to be checked, not as evidence.

Name the constraints out loud
Budget, headcount, regulatory obligations, contracts you cannot exit, systems that cannot go down. Most bad architecture decisions are made by ignoring a constraint that was known to somebody in the room.

Set out the options with their trade-offs
Usually two or three viable routes, each with what it costs, what it forecloses and what it assumes. We give a recommendation, but the reasoning is written down so your team can disagree with it on the evidence.

Sequence it so it can be stopped
A roadmap where every phase leaves the estate in a working state. A programme that only pays off if all of it is completed is a programme with no exit, and those are the ones that get abandoned halfway.

A recommendation to buy a product, to build one, or to keep what you already have earns us exactly the same. Where an engagement recommends a build, you remain free to have that build carried out by your own team or by anyone else; the architecture is written so it can be handed to another supplier.
Advisory work is delivered to organisations under a written engagement letter. We do not provide technical support, device troubleshooting or account recovery to individual consumers.
